Job Purpose:

The IT Support Technician is responsible for on-site installations, as well as support of, and consumables sales to our retail client base in Windhoek and surrounding regions. Further to, the candidate is accountable for the training of client end-users on our Arch Software products.

Important Duties and Responsibilities.

o Client Calls

o Conduct Site Audits / Site Surveys.

o Site Preparations

o Cabling Installation

o Hardware Installations / Maintenance

o Software Installations / Maintenance

o Troubleshooting

o Services and Maintenance

o Client Liaising

o Fault identification and solutions offering

o Escalation of more complex fault findings to 3rd Line Technicians

o Escalation of critical and high priority calls to line manager

o Adhering to and monitoring SLA on calls assigned (SLA guidelines to be followed)

o Ensuring call logging system is updated accordingly as per requirements

o All related administration

o On-going on-site training for both new and existing clients at various levels of the organisation.

o Branch Manager

o Technical Customer Support Department

o Senior IT Technicians

o Other IT Technicians

o Clients, both telephonically as well as on-site

Requirements: (To meet some, if not all of the criteria)

o Windhoek based (Highly preferred) (Candidates responsible for own relocation)

o Excellent English communication skills (Afrikaans, German, Portuguese advantageous)

o 1+ years' client-interfacing work experience

o Microsoft Skills

o Any of the following: A+ N+, MCSE / Diploma / Degree

o Software knowledge (MS SQL & Windows Server) (Advantageous)

o POS, Retail (FMCG) knowledge / experience (Admin / Back Office position) (Advantageous)

o Ability to impart product information / training to end-users at various levels

o MUST be willing to work weekends, standby & overtime

o MUST have own reliable transport and a valid drivers' license

o MUST be able to travel long distances and spend extended periods of time away from home.
