Job Purpose:

The purpose of the role is to support, maintain, enhance, map, implement and integrate applications for the Spinnaker Software Group. Responsible to perform functional maintenance and small developments, that support the current internal business processes of the Spinnaker Software Group and potential future processes by continuously optimising internal software application performances and reporting from the applications databases.

Overview:

The business currently uses Sage CRM, Sage Evolution, Sysaid, Team Foundation, Office 365, Payspace and Euphoria telephone system among others. Reporting is currently done from many of the application databases and there is a requirement to enhance this to BI reporting. All business processes need to be documented and strict change management processes followed for any change. Office 365 has been newly implemented and user’s still need to be assisted in making the change. Sharepoint needs to be mapped, set-up, data uploaded and users assisted with change.

Important Duties and Responsibilities:

Existing Business Processes:

New Requests:

  • Facilitate workshops internally
  • Document Business problem, requirements and minutes of meetings held
  • Log new process request on Asana
  • Compile solution together with Infrastructure Specialist and HR Manager document accordingly
  • Present to the initiator and the rest of business involved in the process change

Implementation:

  • Implement on test version Training on new functionality as developed and tested

Feedback:

  • Providing regular feedback to the role players including estimated delivery time of new request
  • Daily feedback to HR Executive
  • Monthly feedback to the IT Committee

Closing / Escalating Tasks:

  • Update all business documentation including processes and procedures Mark Asana task as completed.

Process:

  • Maintain the integrity of the systems and data

New Business Applications:

Requirement Solicitations:

  • Determine the current and future needs of the business unit(s), document these with process flows and RACI matrixes
  • Draw up technical and functional specification

Application review:

  • Determine the current and future needs of the business unit(s), document these with process flows and RACI matrixes

Implementation:

  • Prepare project plan
  • Prepare data, manage user training and change management
  • Integrate with other systems as needed
  • Test workflows and processes
  • Create reports as needed and get sign off for these from relevant managers/ employees
  • Get user sign off
  • Correcting user errors
  • Upgrade interfaces for better performance
  • Pro-active system checks
  • Provide ongoing training to the users
  • Perform routine maintenance
  • Create custom reports as needed
  • Pro-actively check that reports run as needed

Application Support:

  • Coach users to use the application in the best way to get best results
  • Lead in terms of POPI Act

Reports:

  • Update report with any system changes
  • Proactively showcase BI reporting capabilities

  • See opportunities to create a more efficient user experience or business process and make recommendations

Requirements:

  • Microsoft SSAS – SQL server Analysis Services
  • Microsoft SSRS – SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Microsoft SSIS – SQL Server Integration Services
  • C # development - have the ability to understand code as part of troubleshooting, ability to write code for small applications would be beneficial
